Paspampres asks residents to queue up if they want a photo with Jokowi: no point in insisting

Commander Paspamprés Maj Gen Achiruddin opens up about viral video of man admitting to being beaten after taking photo selfie with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in East Kalimantan. Achiruddin denied that his members beat the residents.
“What is certain is that there was no beating by the Paspampres. There was a lot of press and security from the region at that time,” Achiruddin told reporters on Tuesday (10/9/2024).
Achiruddin hoped that the public would also understand Paspampres’ SOP to ensure the safety of the president. He asked the public not to be aggressive or appear to endanger the president.

“We hope that the public will also understand the SOPs that apply to the protection of the president, so that they do not act aggressively and do not appear to endanger VVIP objects,” he said.
Achiruddin also asked the public not to insistent if you want to take a photo with Jokowi. According to him, Jokowi is always willing to take photos with the public, but must be ordered in the queues.
“When you want a picture, you don't have to insistent or aggressive. Mr. President was very happy to take pictures with the public. “But you have to queue, because there are a lot of people interested,” he explained.
The video had previously gone viral on X's social media. The written account stated that the incident occurred in East Kalimantan, Sunday (8/9). Seen in the video, a man takes a photo with Jokowi after collecting the T-shirt that was distributed.
Shortly after, the man complained of pain. He said he had been beaten by members of Paspampres.
