“Soon, we will inaugurate the Binjai Langkat-Tanjung Pura toll road section which was built in 2020 with a length of 26.2 kilometers with a budget of IDR 11.6 trillion and the Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat 3-4 toll road section which was built in 2018 with a length of 45.6 trillion kilometers, costing a budget of IDR 6 trillion,” Jokowi said.
Jokowi said that by the end of 2024, the Trans Sumatra toll road under construction will cover 1,100 kilometers.
“Especially on this stretch of toll road, it is only 40 kilometers to reach Parapat, Lake Toba, which is very little. “The Simalungun Regent said earlier that it took 3 to 4 hours to get to Medan, now it only takes about 1.5 hours,” he said.
Jokowi explained that this toll road will encourage the creation of new economic centers, increase regional competitiveness and increase the mobility of goods and people. At its peak, the Indonesian economy will compete with other countries.
