Mark Ruffalo Claims Kamala Harris Crushed Donald Trump During Debate

Kamala Harris was hailed by Hollywood after her first presidential debate against Donald Trump, which many in the industry considered a resounding triumph for Kamala Harris' campaign. Mark Ruffalo, for example, posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he was initially “looking forward” to the debate, but that the results couldn't have been more positive.

“What is clear is that Kamala not only has a vision for the future and the future of America, she is also much more balanced and intelligent than Trump,” Ruffalo wrote. “She crushed him.”

“It was like watching Muhammad Ali: she baited him and then let him swing wildly until he wore himself out,” he added in a follow-up post on X.

“Parks and Recreation” favorite Nick Offerman was even more blunt in his assessment of the debate in favor of Harris: “It was a good old-fashioned beating.”

“This man is weak, stupid and delusional!!” Emmy winner Sheryl Lee-Ralph of “Abbott Elementary” added of Trump.

Jimmy Kimmel responded to the debate with a meme in which Trump and Harris were replaced by characters from Disney and Pixar's “Inside Out” franchise. Trump was the anger and Harris was the joy.

Of course, the biggest Hollywood reaction to the debate came from Taylor Swift, who officially endorsed Harris for president just minutes after the debate ended. The pop star praised Harris, writing that she “fights for rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to defend. I think she is a gifted and steady leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are guided by calm and not chaos.”

In his assessment of the debate, Variety film critic Owen Gleiberman wrote: “Harris, the prosecutor, came armed with resources. She didn't just make her case with the doggedness of a lawyer. She spoke with a steady indignation, a force, an almost lyrical anger, waving her hands like a conductor.”
