President Jokowi Welcomes Attendance of BAZNAS National Coordination Meeting Participants in the Archipelago
President Joko Widodo on Wednesday welcomed the presence of participants in the opening of the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) 2024 at the State Palace, capital of the archipelago (IKN), East Kalimantan province, on September 25, 2024. The Head of State said he was happy seeing the bright faces of the participants present.
“I saw that your faces were all bright. They looked very happy, I saw that they looked very happy, happy. Yes, this is the capital of the archipelago,” the president said.

The president stressed that the archipelago's capital was the answer to a long-standing idea launched by Bung Karno and continued by President Soeharto. After extensive study, North Penajam Paser in East Kalimantan was finally chosen as the location of the new capital, a decision supported by 93 percent of DPR members.
“So this is not only the decision of the president but also the decision of all Indonesian people represented by all members of the House of Representatives in Jakarta. So that there is no misperception that this is President Jokowi's project, right,” the president stressed.
According to the President, the presence of the BAZNAS National Coordination Meeting in the capital of the archipelago is this time an important moment. The events that previously took place at the State Palace in Jakarta are now taking place in the new palace, a symbol of transformation.
