Airlangga leaks Jokowi's decree, Indonesian citizens are not afraid
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Coordinating Minister of Economy Airlangga Hartanto gave a direct message from the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Nothing but this is linked to the increasingly massive development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
During a meeting some time ago in Jakarta, Airlangga said Jokowi's order was that people should not be afraid of AI, the issue of which would bring various risks.
“The president said there is no need to be afraid of AI,” Airlangga said.
Furthermore, Airlangga added that the government is paying special attention to the technology which has been very popular since the emergence of ChatGPT. The government hopes that this technology can be used responsibly.
“AI must not conflict with national interests, nor with private or individual interests,” he said.
Airlangga stressed that the presence of AI must be in line with healthy competition. ASEAN countries have also prepared a Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA) under the leadership of Indonesia.
DEFA will be filled with a number of economic digitalization objectives. Namely, starting from the downstream manufacturing sector, it is integrated with manufacturing and services.
According to Airlangga, the digital ecosystem itself requires synergy and collaboration. Ultimately, all parties can benefit from accelerating digital infrastructure.
