Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 2016 surgical strike on Saturday, September 28, 2024 to corner the Congress party in the race for the parliamentary elections in Haryana, accusing the Congress of raising a finger on the credibility of the Indian defense forces.

Targeting the Congress, Mr Modi said the party is synonymous with instability. Wherever Congress is present, there can never be stability. The party that cannot even unite its own leaders, how could it bring stability to the state? Everyone can see the struggle between Congress leaders to become chief minister… In Haryana, all factions of the party are fighting against each other, and amidst this factionalism, the doors of Dalits and arrears are closed, Mr. Modi said.
Mr. Modi accused the Congress of being anti-Dalit. In Haryana, under the Congress regime, Dalits faced atrocities, but the Congress remained silent. The Dalit community will never forget these atrocities and will never forgive the Congress, he said.
He said Congress is the most selfish party, for which the farming community has always been just a vote bank.
The Congress has never taken seriously solving the problems of farmers, only the BJP is working for their welfare. We give $6,000 per year under the leadership of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidi to farmers because we respect them. The Congress is promising the moon to farmers in Haryana, but I would like to ask them in Karnataka, Telangana and Himachal Pradesh, where they are in power, why they are not fulfilling their promises. In Karnataka, under the current Congress regime, hundreds of farmers have committed suicide. The truth is that Congress does not care about the lives of farmers, they only make false promises and have a history of betrayal, he said.
