Israel defies humanity, says Erdoan
ANKARA
President Recep Tayyip Erdoan accused Israel of defying humanity after Hezbollah confirmed the deaths of several commanders, including its longtime leader Hassan Nasrallah, amid escalating violence in Lebanon.
The new target of the policy of genocide, occupation and invasion carried out by Israel since October 7 [last year] it is Lebanon and the Lebanese people, Erdoan said in his September 28 X message.
He condemned recent airstrikes that killed more than 1,000 people, including children, in Lebanon.
Hezbollah was also targeted in an attack on its pagers and walkie-talkies, widely blamed on Israel.
“The more the Israeli government is coddled by the powers that provide it with weapons and ammunition for its massacres, the more reckless it becomes, defying all humanity, humanitarian values and international law,” Erdoan said.
“Israel's attempts to extend its policy of madness from Gaza and Ramallah to Lebanon and other countries in the region must be stopped.”
He also urged global human rights organizations, particularly the UN and its Security Council, to intervene.

Meanwhile, the president addressed Trkiye's economic prospects during an investment event in Istanbul on September 28. The meeting took place in the presence of senior Turkish officials, including Vice President Cevdet Ylmaz and key ministers from the energy, finance and trade sectors, as well as representatives from 13 countries.
“Our country’s position in global supply chains is strengthening every year,” Erdoan told participants.
“Reducing inflation to single digits, reducing the current account deficit and increasing exports by an average of 7 percent per year are among the major issues of the [current economic] program.
Erdoan said his administration's economic agenda also plans to finalize initiatives on climate law, digitalization and investment incentives by the end of the year.
Like the government and [ruling] alliance, we are making all our plans for 2028. Trkiye has three and a half years without elections, each of which is worth gold, he said.
We can only achieve our goals in the economy, defense, diplomacy, democracy and other areas by doing justice to these three and a half years.
The next presidential and legislative elections in Trkiyes are scheduled for 2028.
