President Joko Widodo and Erick Thohir presented the 2024 Pertamina GP championship trophy
Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) handed over the 2024 Pertamina Indonesia Grand Prix championship trophy at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province on Sunday.
The Press, Media and Information Office (BPMI) of the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta informed that President Jokowi presented the trophy during the podium ceremony.
The President's Trophy was awarded to the rider who managed to reach first place in the championship, namely Jorge Martin.
Meanwhile, Minister of State Erick Thohir presented the trophy to Pedro Acosta who finished second. For his part, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, presented the trophy to Francesco Bagnaia, who finished third.
Previously, from a video clip of a live MotoGP broadcast on YouTube MotoGP which was followed online, President Jokowi watched the race directly from the warm-up session from the Royal Box.
The President also attended the main race of the Pertamina Indonesian Grand Prix, which lasted 27 laps at the Mandalika Circuit.
Previously, the world-class competition was opened with colossal dance performances from various parts of the country along with the national song Indonesia Raya sung by Novia Bachmid.
The event then concluded with a group photo session, during which President Jokowi, winners and guests took photos on the podium, immortalizing the moment of victory in this historic international event for the Indonesia.
This year's Pertamina Indonesian Grand Prix in Mandalika presents a spectacular spectacle for motorcycle racing fans around the world, while confirming Indonesia's position as one of the world's best motorcycle racing destinations.
