The Ship of Goodness leaves Turkey with 3,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid for Somalia
MERSIN, Türkiye
The Ship of Kindness carrying 3,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid for Somalia left Mersin, in the southern province of Türkiye, on Sunday.
The aid, coordinated by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and supported by the Turkish Red Crescent and various NGOs, was loaded onto the GHADA ship.
During the farewell ceremony, AFAD President Okay Memis said that since 2016, under the patronage of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey has delivered more than 60,000 tons of aid to the country. East Africa, prone to natural disasters, including droughts, famine, floods and cyclones. .
