Islamabad [Pakistan]September 30 (ANI): An accountability court in Islamabad has set October 2 as the date for indictment of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in the fresh Toshakhana case. According to Ary News, Special Judge Central- Shah Rukh Arjumand heard the case at Adiala jail with Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi present in the hearing. The judge rejected the bail pleas of Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi after his arrest in the Toshakhana-II case. The development came after the District and Sessions Court of Islamabad accepted the appeals filed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi against their conviction in the Iddat case.

The Iddat case revolves around Khan's failure to follow Islamic marriage customs before marrying Bibi. The couple was sentenced to seven years in prison and a heavy fine in February this year after a trial court found their Nikah fraudulent, as noted by Ary News. Earlier this year, on July 13, Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were arrested by authorities in connection with a new National Accountability Bureau (NAB) case linked to Toshakhana, just hours after their acquittal in the Iddat affair. The Toshakhana-II affair follows the scandalous Toshakhana-I affair that rocked Pakistan, in which former Prime Minister Khan was accused of not disclosing details of gifts he received during his mandate from various heads of state and allegedly selling them out. directly to the market, thereby causing a loss to the national treasury.
