Donald Trump to visit Valdosta after Helene hits area

The Republican presidential candidate will visit Valdosta on Monday, September 30.

VALDOSTA, Ga. Former President Donald Trump will travel to Valdosta on Monday to receive a briefing on the devastation caused by Hurricane Helen in the region, his campaign announced.

According to a statement, the Republican presidential candidate will receive a briefing, facilitate relief distribution and deliver a speech to the press.

Trump will deliver his speech Monday at 2 p.m. at Chez What furniture store, 204 S Ashley St, Valdosta.

Helene made landfall in Florida's Big Bend region as a Category 4 hurricane late Thursday evening before moving across the state Friday morning. Around 5 a.m., it had strengthened into a tropical storm in Georgia.

Gov. Brian Kemp has already visited the city, which has been one of the hardest-hit areas in the state.

After viewing the damage from the sky, the governor spoke Saturday from the Lowndes County Emergency Management Center, describing how Hurricane Helene “spared no one” from a bird's eye perspective. statewide.

This will be Trump's second visit to the Peach State in less than a week. He was in Savannah last Tuesday to campaign and deliver a speech on a plan to cut taxes on American business owners.
