Jokowi receives Indonesian Association of Disabled People, discuss

Gus Ipul explained that during the meeting, PPDI thanked Jokowi for the policies issued for people with disabilities. The PPDI also highlighted the need for a secretariat to carry out program activities that meet the needs of persons with disabilities.

According to Gus Ipul, at that time there was also an expression of hope for the formation of a National Commission on Disabilities that would operate directly under the President, which had been entrusted to the Ministry of Social Affairs.
He said that later, aspirations regarding the National Committee for the Disabled would be conveyed to President-elect Prabowo Subianto, who would be inaugurated on October 20.
“Basically, Mr. Jokowi is absolutely certain that President-elect Mr. Prabowo also has the same concerns as Mr. Jokowi regarding the things needed to support this association of friends with disabilities,” he explained.
The General President of PPDI, Norman Yulian, said that the meeting discussed the implementation of Law Number 8/2016 so that it can continue to be strengthened through the recognition of the National Committee for the Disabled which directly reports of the presidency.
