The future of modern warfare
Ukrainian technology transforms the battlefield in real time. How will this change America's national security strategy? Admiral, former NATO Supreme Allied Commander James Stravridis joined Ian Braker on GZERO World to explain how technology is creating a new warfare triad of unmanned systems, artificial cyber intelligence and special forces.
Modern conflicts no longer require huge standing armies to fight effectively; just look at Ukraine’s success in the Black Sea. Small armies are increasingly using drones, satellites and unmanned systems against larger armies. Stavridis says Taiwan is a dream for resistance fighters because of its geography and resources. Additionally, it makes about half of the world's computer chips, which China depends on for its technological infrastructure. But Stavridis also warns that the same technology empowers criminals and terrorist groups, creating dangerous asymmetric warfare.
The United States will continue to be the predominant nation in power projection. China will try to achieve this. Russia, the lights are going to go out, the admiral said, but its acts of terrorism and its ability to use weapons of mass disruption, that's what you have to worry about.
