Queen Elizabeth suffered from bone cancer, Boris Johnson claims in memoir

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson claimed in his unpublished book that Queen Elizabeth II suffered from bone cancer. His memoir is due out October 10.

Johnson also details his final meeting with the late monarch after he resigned as Prime Minister two days before his death on September 8, 2022.

Titled “Unleashed,” Johnson recalls in the book the Queen's final days at Balmoral, Scotland and writes that he had known “for over a year that she was suffering from a form of bone cancer.” Her doctors “feared that at any moment she could experience a sudden decline.”

Details of the Queen's death were never officially revealed and speculation continued to swirl about the reason. This is the first time a former government official has indicated how she died.

Queen Elizabeth II was 96 when she died, and her death certificate lists “old age” as the cause.

Buckingham Palace has not commented on Johnson's memoir as they follow the policy of refraining from saying anything about books written about the royal family.

Speaking of his meeting with the Queen at Balmoral, Johnson wrote that he was greeted by the Queen's private secretary, Edward Young, who mentioned to him that his health had deteriorated considerably over the summer.
