Xi warns of 'rough seas' as China celebrates 75 years of communist rule

Beijing marked the 75th anniversary of the Communist Party with low-key festivities as economic challenges and security threats persist over the country and its leader, Xi Jinping, warns of rough seas ahead.

A flag-raising ceremony in Tiananmen Square on Tuesday saw a guard of honor parade from the entrance to the vast palace that in centuries past was the residence of Chinese emperors.
