Mark Cuban warns Elon Musk about Trump loyalty

Mark Cuban has issued a warning to his billionaire counterpart Elon Musk over his trust in former President Donald Trump: he won't be there for you.

In response to a post from Musk on X, Cuban said he should be careful about aligning himself so closely with the Republican presidential candidate. If he comes to ask Trump for a favor, he will surely find out where his loyalties lie, Cuban added.

Although just a few years ago Musk said Trump should hang up his hat and ride off into the sunset, the Tesla CEO recently changed his mind.

Musk has thrown his full support behind Trump and said he would accept a role in his administration. When he interviewed Trump in August, Musk also proposed creating a Commission on Government Efficiency to reform the federal government, and Trump said Musk could be well-positioned to lead such a commission.

At the same time, Cuban has become one of Vice President Kamala Harris' strongest supporters. Amid attacks from the right, Cuban defended Harris as pro-business and said he would put his name in the running for Securities and Exchange Commission commissioner.

November's presidential election pitted some of the country's richest people against each other.
