Israel will target Turkey after Lebanon, says Erodgan – World
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned on Tuesday that the repercussions of the Israeli ground operation in Lebanon would be significantly different from previous military actions, as the Netanyahu government could target his country. Anadolu Agency reported.
The consequences of a ground operation in Lebanon will not resemble Israel's past occupations, he said in a speech at the reopening of the Trkiyes parliament after the summer recess, just hours after the start of the movement of Israeli forces towards Lebanon.
Erdogan condemned Israel's actions in the region, calling the current situation in Gaza a genocide and criticizing recent terrorist attacks in Lebanon that left thousands dead and the displacement of hundreds of thousands. He accused the Israeli government of trying to incite conflicts between countries in the region.
He added that Israel's actions have not received the necessary and sufficient response from the world.
