In the dark, Jokowi inaugurates 5.5 km road in NTT

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the implementation of the Regional Presidential Road Instruction (IJD) in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The inauguration of the 5.5 kilometer road took place in darkness due to lack of lighting.
Reported detikBaliOn Tuesday (01/10/2024), Jokowi inaugurated the road while it was dark. Many street lights that were normally lit were turned off during the inauguration.
Even though it was dark, the former mayor of Solo still inaugurated the road project in Alak district. Residents were also enthusiastic to welcome Jokowi's arrival.

After the inauguration, the atmosphere there became increasingly somber. On this occasion, Jokowi distributed basic necessities and t-shirts to residents.
“As a community figure here, I am very disappointed. The other day the street lights here were on 24 hours a day. How come the president came, it was dark? Why is the president- he here and the lights were not on,” said a resident of Naioni village, Amsoleman Nenosaban (55).
“What kind of government is this? I'm really sorry. I'm very embarrassed that this place is dark during the president's inauguration,” he added.
President Jokowi is expected to pay a working visit to NTT from October 1 to 3, 2024. Jokowi will visit several regions there and inaugurate a number of infrastructure projects.
