Gandapur meets Imran in Adiala ahead of protest on 4

ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Tuesday met Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Chairman Imran Khan in Adiala Jail to discuss a protest at D Chowk on October 4.

Besides Gandapur, Imran Khan's sister Aleema Khan, Jamshed Barki, Salman Akram Raja and Sheikh Muhammad Salman's lawyer also visited Adiala jail to discuss legal and political issues and seek advice from the chief of the incarcerated party.

It was learned that the meeting continued for about an hour in the conference room. A source close to the meeting claimed that the party chief praised Gandapur for its aggressive approach towards the leaders.

The current political situation was discussed at the meeting, in addition to the Rawalpindi protest on September 28. Besides, the protest at D Chowk in Islamabad was debated amid reports that the local administration was sealing the federal capital. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister, who often addresses the media, left without speaking to journalists waiting outside. Under the law, any party planning to hold a rally must appoint an event coordinator, who will write to the district magistrate for permission to hold the rally seven days before the scheduled date. As per the law, after receiving the application, the District Magistrate will assess the prevailing public order and obtain security clearance from the law enforcement agencies and then decide whether to grant the clearance or not. The law also authorizes the administration to designate a specific area of ​​Islamabad as a red zone or high security zone, thereby prohibiting any type of gathering in that area.
