Imran, Bushra 'enjoy VIP treatment' in jail: Azma – Journal

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Tuesday claimed that former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are serving their jail term in a VIP manner.

Bushra Bibi was provided with Class B facilities in prison. The facilities available to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in jail are beyond the imagination of a common man. The couple is serving their jail term in a VIP manner, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari said in a statement on Tuesday.

She said that staying in the headlines through publicity gimmicks was a favorite pastime of Bushra Bibi.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz doesn't care what Bushra Bibi eats. She does not know the cell that was allocated to Bushra Bibi in Adiala prison, she said.

Ms. Bokhari further said that Maryam suffered many hardships during the Imran Khan government, while Bushra Bibi was safe from all of them.

The conditions in which Maryam was held in Kot Lakhpat jail and the NAB torture cell were all due to the will of Bushra Bibis, she claimed.

Maryam Nawaz endured the ordeals of prison but never used the gender card. Bushra Bibi is imprisoned for crimes related to the theft of Toshakhana gifts and the embezzlement of $190 million, she said.
