Jokowi proposed moving his home to Solo in September 2024, regional secretary: no reception plans yet
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Before stepping down, President Joko Widodo offered to move his home from Jakarta to SoloCentral Java. According to Solo City Regional Secretary Budi Murtono, he changed his place of residence Jokowi submitted in September 2024. In this way, said Budi, Jokowi will become a citizen of Solo again.

Meanwhile, when asked about plans to welcome Jokowi's return to Solo after his retirement on October 20, 2024, Budi said that until now the Solo City Government had not planned for this event.

Budi said Jokowi's eldest son, who is also vice president-elect, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, is still registered as having a Solo ID card.

Budi admitted that there was no information on when Gibran would move to Jakarta.
“He has not been informed when he will move to Jakarta. His KTP is still registered in Solo,” said Budi.
There is also no event to welcome Jokowi to his residence in the Sumber area, Banjarsari district, Solo. Former Solo City Secretary Ahyani, who is also a close neighbor of Jokowi's residence, said there are no plans for the reception yet.
“For now no, but I will try to ask other residents first,” said Ahyani, who was also the RT head of Jokowi village.
Ahyani added that regarding hosting or sending events for officials, for example the Mayor of Solo, it is possible that the Solo City Government will organize one. He admitted, however, that he did not know whether a similar event would also be organized for officials of the presidential class.
“In the past, for mayors who were finishing their terms, there was some kind of welcome event organized by the Solo city government. But for the president it might be different, I don't know if it is one or not. “For the president, the procedures are also different if we just wait for the subdistrict or city government officials,” he said.
