PM Modi to visit Jharkhand today, for the second time in 17 days, to launch development projects | Ranchi News
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jharkhand on Wednesday, marking his second trip to the state in 17 days. His previous visit was aimed Jamshedpur on September 15. Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren noted great public enthusiasm for Prime Minister Modi's visit.
Soren said, “The Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, is coming. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the people of Jharkhand. This state will develop and the pace of development will accelerate. Every time he comes here he brings new and good projects which benefits the people of Jharkhand, the whole Jharkhand is excited.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will first meet the tribal community of Ranchi. Then he will proceed to HazaribaghGandhi Maidan for the closing ceremony of the BJP Parivartan Yatra.
He will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various projects valued at over Rs 83,300 crore. Among these initiatives, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 40 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) and lay the foundation for 25 more schools, with an investment of over Rs 2,800 crore to improve tribal educational infrastructure.
According to the Prime Minister's Office, these measures will affect around 63,000 villages spread across 549 districts and 2,740 blocks in 30 states and Union Territories, directly benefiting over 5 million tribal people. PM Modi will also launch the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan program with a total budget of over Rs 79,150 crore.
Jharkhand is expected to hold elections for its 81-member legislative assembly by December 2024, with the current term ending in January 2025. The Election Commission is yet to announce the election dates.
During the 2020 legislative elections, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 30 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party won 25 and the Congress Party won 16 seats.
