President writes to Xi, highlights stable, peaceful relations | News from India
In a special letter addressed to his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, President Droupadi Murmu stressed the importance of working towards peaceful and stable relations between the two countries. Greeting the Chinese president on the 75th Founding Day of the People's Republic of China, Murmu said she looks forward to working with him to establish beneficial relations.
The remarks follow positive signals from Indian and Chinese diplomats regarding the ongoing standoff along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. There have been several rounds of meetings at diplomatic and political levels between India and China on resolving outstanding issues in the LAC, which have been hampering relations since 2020.
In the letter dated September 27, shared by Chinese Ambassador to India Xu Feihong on X, Murmu said: As two major neighbors facing many common development challenges and shared regional interests, it is important that we work towards peaceful and stable relations between our countries. two countries.
