Laura Kuenssberg reveals how embarrassing gaffe saw Boris Johnson interview canceled
Laura Kuenssberg last night revealed how an embarrassing gaffe hampered her upcoming interview with Boris Johnson.
A much-anticipated meeting between the former Prime Minister and the channel was due to be broadcast on Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
However, the company confirmed on Wednesday evening that the program had been dropped following an error by its former political editor.
Kuenssberg told her X followers that she had accidentally sent Mr. Johnson briefing notes that were intended for his team instead.
She branded the error “embarrassing and disappointing”, and BBC bosses pulled the plug after calling the situation “untenable”.

Kuenssberg told her X followers that she had accidentally sent Mr. Johnson briefing notes that were intended for his team instead.
The chat show was due to be Mr Johnson's first major interview about his time at No 10 since he resigned two years ago.
He was expected to face questions over Partygate and its wider response to the Covid pandemic, as well as the groping scandal around his former minister, Chris Pincher.
Kuenssberg wrote: “As I prepared to interview Boris Johnson tomorrow, I mistakenly sent him our briefing notes in a message to my team.
“This obviously means that it is not appropriate for the interview to take place. It is very frustrating, and there is no point in pretending that it is anything other than embarrassing and disappointing, because there is a lot of important questions to ask.
“But red faces aside, honesty is the best policy. See you Sunday.
A BBC spokesperson, referring to Kuenssberg's statement, added: “Tomorrow's interview with Boris Johnson will not take place.
“As Laura explained, interview notes intended for her colleagues were inadvertently shared with her.
“This makes an interview tomorrow untenable. In the circumstances, the BBC and Mr Johnson's team agreed that this was the best way forward.
