Turkish President to attend BRICS summit in Kazan, says Russian Deputy Foreign Minister
MOSCOW. October 3 (Interfax) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has confirmed that he will attend the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.
“President Erdogan confirmed his participation in the BRICS summit session in the “outreach/BRICS plus” format. Therefore, issues, including the Ukrainian question, will also be discussed at the highest level, when we welcome the leader Turk in Kazan,” Ryabkov said. said at a press conference in Moscow.
Regarding Turkey's bid for BRICS membership, he said that “all decisions within the group are adopted by consensus.”
“We respect Turkey's intention, as well as that of all states interested in building systemic interaction with BRICS, to forge closer ties with the group,” Ryabkov said.
“More than 30 states, including our immediate neighbors and partners in the [Eurasian Economic Union] The EAEU and the [Commonwealth of Independent States] The CEI has already confirmed “its participation in the next summit”, he declared.

The BRICS summit is scheduled to take place in Kazan, the capital of the Russian interior republic of Tatarstan, from October 22-24.
