The moment Jokowi was greeted with poetry by two students at a primary school in West Sumba
WEST SUMBA.COMMERCE.ASIA — The atmosphere at Waikabubak Regional Hospital, West Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, was warm with a special welcome from two 5th grade students from SDK Marsudirini, Clarion and Belva. President Joko Widodo's arrival at the hospital was greeted with heartfelt poetry, the result of collaboration between them and teachers, nurses and soldiers.
Clarion and Belva appeared enthusiastic as they read a poem titled Thank My Love, which they wrote specifically to welcome the president. The poem contains expressions of gratitude and thanks for the President's attention to the development and welfare of the people of West Sumba, including the health facilities they enjoy.
“We didn't expect to meet Pak Jokowi in person, we usually only see him on TV,” Clarion said with a smile after finishing reading the poem in front of the president.
During their meeting, President Jokowi also showed attentiveness and friendliness. Claron and Belva also admitted that they were happy to be able to meet President Jokowi in person and considered President Jokowi to be a kind and caring personality.
“We were asked what our names were, what grade we were in, and we kept saying we needed to study more,” Belva said, remembering that precious moment.
In the poem, Clarion and Belva express their deep gratitude to the President, particularly for the development achieved in their region. The poem also reflects their gratitude for the presence of President Jokowi who has contributed greatly to their region, especially hospitals which have provided better health services.
Clarion and Belva also hope that their short meeting with President Jokowi will become a beautiful and unforgettable memory. At the end of the meeting, they expressed their hope that the President is still in good health and continues to bring good to society.
