Congress has foreign mentality and has kept Dalits, tribals, OBCs away: PM Modi

Attacking the Congress at a public rally in Maharashtras Washim, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the opposition party has an alien mentality and is keeping Dalits, tribals and OBCs away from the mainstream.

One family believes they have inherited the right to rule the country from the British and are thriving on divide and rule politics, the Prime Minister added.

Referring to a recent drug trafficking case in Delhi, the Prime Minister said the Congress wanted to promote drug abuse among the youth to raise funds for election campaigns.

In Delhi, a drug racket was busted whose main leader belonged to the Congress party, he said.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister visited Jagdamba Poharadevi temple in Washim district during his visit. The Jagdamba Poharadevi temple is a place of pilgrimage for the Banjara (nomadic) community.

Modi also inaugurated the Banjara National Museum, showcasing the rich social and cultural tradition of the community.

Recalling the contributions of the Banjara community in the freedom struggle, PM Modi said, “The British treated the entire (Banjara) community as criminals. Unfortunately, the Congress has done nothing to restore the dignity and livelihood of the Banjaras. The BJP government has always strived for the holistic development of all oppressed and backward classes.

Terming the Congress as a party run by urban naxals, Modi said, “All those who oppose India's emergence as a powerful country are close to the Congress.

The Prime Minister also released the 18th installment of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi worth Rs 20,000 crore to 9.4 crore farmers across the country after the rally.

Talking about farmers, Modi said, “The dual-engine government of Maharashtra has helped farmers by providing additional funds under the Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi also inaugurated five solar parks in Washim with a total capacity of 19 MW.

A few days ago, Delhi Police busted a drug racket and seized 560 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana worth Rs 5,620 crore. The gang's alleged leader, Tushar Goel, was a former president of the RTI cell of the Delhi Youth Congress. In its defense, the Congress claimed that Goel had been expelled from the party in 2022.
