Urban Naxal-led Congress says PM Modi in Maharashtra blames MVA for stalling projects

Congress is led by urban naxals and it will bring back Article 370 if voted to power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during his visit to Maharashtra on Saturday (October 5, 2024).

During an eventful day-long tour of the state, Mr. Modi visited the Congress, flagged off a section of Mumbai's first underground metro, inaugurated key infrastructure projects worth several thousand million dollars and addressed a gathering of renowned Marathi personalities, including singer Asha. Bhosale, to congratulate them on the classical language status accorded to Marathi. He spoke in Marathi for some time during this event.

At a grand reception in Thane, he blamed the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) for stalling projects in the state. Former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray hit back at the prime minister saying the projects were being handed over to contractor friends.

Congress wants to keep the poor, poor. Congress is full of urban naxals. He has the support of those who want to stop India's development, the Prime Minister told Washim.

MVA and Congress would block development works every chance they get, he said, adding that the parties had stopped key infrastructure projects like the bullet train. People should remove from power those who hinder development. While we are building toilets, the Congress is levying tax on toilets, he said, referring to a proposal from Congress-ruled Himachal Pradesh. The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh denied the existence of such a move.

Virasat Museum in Banjara

Mr. Modi's tour began with a visit to the famous Jagdamba temple in Poharadevi where he performed rituals and met the saints of the Banjara community. Following this, he inaugurated the Banjara Virasat Museum in Washim and addressed a public rally.

In Mumbai, he traveled from the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) business district to Santacruz station on the new Metro Line 3. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis were present at the kick-off.

The Prime Minister disbursed the 18th tranche of PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi worth around 20,000 crore to 9.4 crore farmers. In addition to this, he handed over the fifth tranche of the NaMo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana, where 90 lakh farmers were covered with financial assistance of around 1,900 crore.

It has also dedicated five solar parks with a total capacity of 19 MW across Maharashtra under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0.

Speaking at a rally, he accused the previous MVA government of corruption. MVA used the money we sent to farmers, he said. He further alleged that the Congress was supported by people who wanted to stop India's development.

Speaking in Thane, while inaugurating projects worth ₹32,800 crore, he said infrastructure development in Thane and Mumbai would go down in history. The NDA would fulfill the dreams of the people of Maharashtra, he added.

Our government’s dreams and ambitions are focused on Vikasit Bharat. It was a lot of work as we had to focus on development and manage the Congress at the same time, he said.

Subsequently, speaking at the BKC at a small function attended by several Marathi dignitaries, including singer Asha Bhosale, actor Sachin Pilgaonkar and academician Sadanand More, he congratulated everyone on the status of classical Marathi language. The audience warmly applauded the Prime Minister when he spoke in Marathi during his speech. He said classical language status would help boost study and research into the language.

Uddhav Thackeray attacks PM

Taking shots at Mr Modi, Uddhav Thackeray alleged that the Prime Minister was lining the pockets of his entrepreneur friends.

Today, on the one hand, the Prime Minister comes to line the pockets of his entrepreneur friend… The pockets of the entrepreneurs are being filled, the pockets of the leaders of their party are being filled through the intermediary of the entrepreneur, Mr. Thackeray. said.
