President Jokowi Says Capital Move Awaits Prabowo Era – SUARAKALBAR.CO.ID
Jakarta (Suara West Kalimantan)- President Joko Widodo said that the Presidential Decree (Keppres) regarding the transfer of the capital to the Archipelago Capital (IKN) should be signed by President-elect Prabowo Subianto, once all preparations have been made completed in the new capital.
This statement was made by the President after the opening of the Nusantara TNI Fun Run event in the IKN region, East Kalimantan, Sunday (06/10/2024).
“Yes, this is how it should be, the new president is Pak Prabowo (who signed it),” said President Joko Widodo after the opening of the Nusantara TNI Fun Run in IKN, East Kalimantan, as reported by ANTARA, Sunday (6/10/2024).
The president previously said he could not make strategic decisions at the end of his term, with three weeks to go. However, regarding the presidential decree on moving the capital, he said, it also concerns the preparedness of everything in the capital.
“Once again, I repeat, moving the capital is not just a physical issue, but building the ecosystem is what is needed and that ecosystem must be completed,” he said .
He said the move to the capital must ensure the availability of all supporting infrastructure such as hospitals, educational institutions from kindergartens, primary schools, vocational colleges/high schools to universities, and that there must be lively centers such as restaurants and food stalls.
