Ten years of Jokowi, the Ministry of Transport builds 521 transport infrastructures
NATIONAL NEWS – During the ten years of President Joko Widodo's administration, Indonesia has seen significant changes in the transportation sector, with emphasis placed on infrastructure development. The Ministry of Transport has completed the construction of 157 land transport infrastructures, 193 maritime transport sectors, 91 air transport sectors and 80 railway infrastructures. Several National Strategic Projects (NSPs) that are in the spotlight include the Nabire Baru Airport in Papua, the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train (Whoosh) and the Patimban Port in West Java.
In addition to physical development, the Ministry of Transport also introduces technological innovations. One of them is the presence of Jabodebek LRT and ART (Autonomous Rapid Transit) in the Indonesian capital (IKN), which offer driverless train services. The Jakarta-Bandung fast train, inaugurated under the Jokowi administration, is also one of the major achievements of Indonesia's transportation modernization.
In the services sector, the Ministry of Transport has simplified regulations and digitalized to simplify licensing and increase the efficiency of transport governance.
