ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Duty Magistrate Azhar Nadeem has approved one-day remand of Imran Khan's sisters Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and Asad Qaiser's brother Adnan Khan on terrorism charges. The court ordered the police to produce the accused before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday (today).

Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan, along with Adnan Khan, brother of Asad Qaiser and other party members, were produced before a local court in Islamabad on Sunday.

Imran Khan's sisters were arrested along with other PTI workers on Friday on charges including terrorism and attempted murder. The police had sought 20 days' remand, but the duty magistrate approved a one-day remand for Imran Khan's sisters.

The case was registered against the Imrans sisters at Kohsar police station on serious charges, including 16 terrorism-related provisions. The sisters, along with another person, were produced before the court, which approved their pre-trial detention and ordered the accused to appear before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday.

Besides, the court ordered remand of nine other PTI workers, sending them to Adiala jail. Besides, 102 PTI workers are to be sent for an identification parade.

Islamabad Police on Friday arrested Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan, during a protest at D-Chowk. The arrests took place after the imposition of Section 144 in the federal capital and both were taken to a police station.
