The moment Budi Arie recalls photos of Jokowi riding a motorcycle chased by shirtless residents

Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi I remember the story behind the photo of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) riding a motorcycle and being chased by locals. Budi Arie said the photo had its own meaning for him.
This was stated by Budi Arie during the opening of the photo exhibition “Jokowi's Legacy 2014-2024”, at the Antara Heritage Building, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, Friday (10/11/2024). Budi Arie said the photo was taken while Jokowi was visiting Sukabumi, West Java.
“One of the photos that impressed us was from President Joko Widodo's working visit to Sukabumi in 2018,” said Budi Arie.

Budi Arie said that at that time Jokowi was actually riding a motorcycle with the ministers. However, he said, suddenly shirtless locals were chasing Jokowi.
“When President Jokowi was on tour with the Minister of PUPR, the Minister of Transportation and the head of KSP and a number of motorcycle clubs, he was chased by a citizen in shorts and shirtless,” he said. he explained.
“With such a joyful expression, this moment is still remembered today, because it shows how much the people want to be close to the leader,” he continued.
Furthermore, Budi Arie said that Jokowi left many legacies during his 10 years as Indonesia's leader. According to him, the legacy is not only infrastructure, but also the hope for a Golden Indonesia 2045.
“Today we see that many of our children have high hopes and optimism because Indonesia's progress can only be achieved through synergy, unity and mutual cooperation of all components of the nation,” he declared.
“That is why let us together support the Pak Prabowo government so that we can truly pass on the achievement of Golden Indonesia 2045 to our children and grandchildren in 2045,” he added.
