President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi to attend Dussehra organized by Shri Dharmik Leela Committee in Delhi

New Delhi [India]October 11 (ANI): President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the Dussehra program organized by the Shri Dharmik Leela Committee in Delhi on Saturday.
Dheeraj Dhar Gupta, general secretary of the Shri Dharmik Leela Committee said, “The program will begin tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. The President and the Prime Minister will arrive. Tomorrow, on the occasion of Dussehra, the three effigies will be burnt.”
He added that for the past 8-10 days, the Ramleela event was going on.
“This is our 101st year. All the programs went very well. The police authorities helped us manage the event. Generally, the height of Ravana is 70 feet. Security was beefed up in view of the presence of the Prime Minister at tomorrow's event. Special Protection Group (SPG) is taking care of the security of tomorrow's event,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Sri Ram Lila Society claimed to have erected the tallest effigy of Ravan in India, measuring an impressive height of 211 feet in Sector 10 of Dwarka here.
The organizers also sent an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the Sri Ram Lila Society, it took 4 months to prepare and install this structure.
Speaking to ANI, Rajesh Gehlot, chairman of the organizing committee, said, “As we can see, sin is increasing in society, so this effigy represents the increasing sins and we will burn them all in Dusherra, i.e. October 12. , 2024. We have invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the ceremony and we are hoping for a positive response. We have also extended the invitation to other BJP leaders.
“Vijyayadashmi” or “Dussehra” is celebrated to mark the triumph of good over evil. It is believed that Lord Rama killed Ravan on this day, and with this belief, the culture of burning effigies of Ravan began.
Vijayadashmi marks the end of the five-day Durga Puja festivities, and also marks the culmination of the nine-day Navratri festival. (ANI)
