Third assassination attempt on Donald Trump foiled at Coachella rally

Police foiled a third assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, arresting a Las Vegas man with multiple weapons and fake entry passes outside a rally in California.

Mr. Trump held a rally at Coachella on Saturday.

A man driving a black SUV was stopped about a kilometer from the rally site at a police checkpoint.

When she was arrested, police noticed her pass was fraudulent, sparking concern.

Police then discovered the man had a loaded shotgun, a handgun and a high-capacity magazine in his possession.

We probably stopped another assassination attempt, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco told the Riverside Press-Enterprise.

The man has since been identified as Ven Miller.

He was arrested and charged with possession of a loaded firearm and a high-capacity magazine.

Although police said they stopped an attempted murder, Mr. Miller was released after posting $5,000 bail.

This incident did not impact the safety of former President Trump or event attendees, Bianco said.

Mr. Miller is expected to appear in court in early 2025, according to online records.

Mr Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt in July when a gunman's bullet grazed his ear during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

In September, another man was charged with attempting to assassinate Mr. Trump after Secret Service agents found him hiding with a rifle near the former president's golf course in Palm Beach. He pleaded not guilty.

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the latest arrest.
