Five-member Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf delegation to meet Imran Khan at Adiala jail

Islamabad [Pakistan]October 19 (ANI): A five-member delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will visit Adiala Jail today to meet party founder Imran Khan, Dunya News reported. PTI leaders are expected to hold talks on the constitutional amendment package with former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and seek his advice on the issue. The delegation includes Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, PTI Chairman Salman Akram Raja, Hamid Raza, Barrister Ali Zafar and Asad Qaiser, according to Dunya News report. After the meeting, Imran Khan's party will work out its agenda for constitutional amendments and share it with other political parties. Earlier, PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas said the government was keen to appoint the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and termed it essential for PTI to seek Imran Khan's opinion on the matter , Dunya News reported.

He said, “We trust all our MPs. They stand with PTI founder Imran Khan. They will not vote in favor of the constitutional amendment package. The government wanted to ban PTI.” Meanwhile , PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan's lawyer announced on Friday: that his party will follow PTI founder Imran Khan's directives on constitutional amendments, ARY News reported. Speaking to reporters after meeting Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman, he said they held discussions on the proposed constitutional amendments. Lawyer Khan said the draft constitutional amendments were approved by the special parliamentary committee amid opposition from the PTI, ARY News reported. “We were in a meeting with Maulana Sahib when we learned that the project had been approved by the special parliamentary committee,” he added.
