Klute, famous Durham nightclub, officially reopens
Durham City nightclub Klute has reopened its doors for good, after announcing its return last week.
The shock closure of the infamous Inspring club has sparked outcry from fans. Students launched petitions to reopen the hall and devastated punters left 'in memoriam' bouquets of flowers on Klute's door.
Klute's parent company, Tokyo Industries, closed the club after 40 years in business, without any explanation.
Punters were initially unsure if the club was back for good, after a cryptic reel was posted on Instagram saying “Klute never really left”.
Klute management told student newspaper The Tab that the first night back will be “a test of the waters” as the company feels “ready to do it again.”
The club is now open again every evening – with free entry, 2 drinks and 4 quaddies.
Dominic Cummings, a former adviser to Boris Johnson, paid tribute to Klute, where he once worked collecting money on the doorstep.

Mr. Cummings' family owned the place for decades. He added: “Not many people know that my dad and uncles gave it that name after watching the classic 70s movie, watch it if you've never done so (Maybe The Startup Party should buy the building for our northern headquarters…).”

Klute was previously owned by Cummings' uncle, but its ownership was taken over by Tokyo Industries in 2013.
