The four F16 fighter jets that escorted Joko Widodo's flight from Jakarta to Surakarta came from the 16 Air Squadron at Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base. Joko Widodo, after serving as president for two terms, chose to return to his residence in Surakarta, Central Java. He was accompanied by the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, on the tarmac of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, on Sunday afternoon.
Jokowi, before boarding the plane, said he entrusted all dreams and aspirations for the future of the nation to Prabowo.
“I convey to Mr. President, I fully hand over the dreams, hopes and great aspirations of 280 million Indonesians to Mr. President, retired TNI General Prabowo Subianto,” Jokowi told reporters at the base aerial by Halim Perdanakusuma.
Jokowi also advised the Indonesian people to always live in harmony to build the nation.
“Harmoniously, unite, embrace, build this country. As Mr. President Prabowo said,” Jokowi said.
At the same place, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto asked the public for best prayers for the future work of his government.
“Yes, I wish you the best. Thank you,” Prabowo said.
During a series of events in honor of Joko Widodo at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, a number of Indonesian Air Force combat aircraft also displayed flight pass.
