Police submit interim appeal against Imran, Qureshi and other ATC members

RAWALPINDI. The RA Bazaar police station on Saturday submitted an interim complaint regarding the GHQ attack on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and others before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC ).

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, former federal ministers and central, provincial and local Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders are fully responsible for instigating the attack on military installations, said the police in the Challan.

ATC judge Amjad Ali Shah, after submitting the interim challan, adjourned the hearing to October 30. In the challan, RA Bazaar police said that Imran Khan's statements on social media had incited PTI workers to oppose the army. The top PTI leader asked party activists to take all possible illegal steps so that top military leaders and the federal and provincial governments are forced to resign. Like terrorist organizations, they carried out targeted attacks on state and military institutions in full coordination, irrefutable evidence of which was obtained from PEMRA, FIA and other sources.

The court distributed copies of the file to the defendants. Imran Khan's lawyers also filed three separate motions, including one relating to telephone contact with his sons and the medical examination.

Lawyer Malik Faisal said in a petition that he should be allowed to meet Imran Khan as he would follow his client's instructions regarding the GHQ attack case.

In Challan, police said audio and video posts from the computer lab on social media, CCTV footage obtained from the JAG branch of GHQ and soldiers on duty were unauthorized. A challan had been prepared with irrefutable evidence in light of Imran Khan's statements on social media, which instigated his party members to oppose the army and asked them to take all possible illegal measures.
