PM Modi inaugurates new airport at MP's Rewa
BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh's Vindhya region is all set to spread its wings as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rewa airport via virtual mode on Sunday.
Among the three new airports in the country, which were virtually inaugurated on Sunday by Prime Minister Modi under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)-Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) of his parliamentary constituency Varanasi, Rewa Airport is the sixth commercial airport in the country. Joining the launch of Rewa Airport was Deputy CM Dr Mohan Yadav, who also announced that for the next month, passengers between Rewa and Bhopal will fly at a rate of Rs 999 only under the dedicated flight program of PM Shri.
While Rewa will benefit from a series of domestic passenger flights in the coming weeks and months, the new airport will also offer cargo flights in the future. As per the Rewa airport plan, large planes will also take off and land here in the coming time, Dr Yadav said.
Addressing the event, local MP and state MP CM Rajendra Shukla said, The new airport will give new wings to the aspirations of the entire Vindhya region, which is home to the Singrauli thermal power hub, the cement production center of Satna, Rewa and Maihar, besides three tiger reserves-national parks and the Mukundpur Tiger Safari.
