PM Modi will hold his first in-person talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the BRICS sidelines on Wednesday
New Delhi: Importantly, Foreign Minister Vikram Misri on Tuesday confirmed that a bilateral meeting will be held between Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday, October 23, on the sidelines of the BRICS summit.
The 16th BRICS meeting is being held in Kazan, under the presidency of Russia, from October 22 to 24.
This comes after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that over the past few weeks, Indian and Chinese diplomatic and military negotiators were in close contact with each other in various forums.
And following these discussions, an agreement was reached on the modalities of patrolling along the Line of Actual Control in the border areas between India and China, leading to disengagement and resolution of the problems arising in these areas in 2020. China will take the next steps in this regard.
