Haryana CM meets PM Modi, discusses development
The Chief Minister discussed key projects with Prime Minister Modi including expansion of Gurugram Metro and extension of RRTS from Sarai Kale Khan to Karnal.
Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss various development projects and programs aimed at accelerating the growth of the state. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the twin-engine government of the Center and Haryana would usher the state into a new era of progress.
Speaking to the media after his meeting with the Prime Minister, Saini said, “Together we will take Haryana to new heights of development. Our aim is to create a non-stop Haryana, a growing Haryana. His media advisor Rajeev Jetley was also present during the interaction.
The chief minister highlighted that the discussions with Prime Minister Modi were on crucial infrastructure projects. These include the expansion of the metro network in Gurugram and the extension of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) from New Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan to Panipat, extending it further to Karnal.
Our aim is to improve road connectivity in Haryanas, which will reduce traffic congestion and ensure smoother and more efficient travel for citizens, Saini said. He also shared that his meetings with Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Hardeep Singh Puri in recent days led to the approval of several projects aimed at boosting urban development and road infrastructure in the state.
On women empowerment, Saini lauded the efforts of the union government, saying that Prime Minister Modi launched the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign from Panipat and over the last decade, his government has constantly worked towards the empowerment of women.
He welcomed the recent passage of the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill, adding that it will increase the participation of women in legislative bodies and contribute to the progress of the country.
With initiatives such as self-help groups and programs such as Drone Didi, the dual-engine government is committed to equipping women with new skills, he said.
Responding to questions on paddy procurement, Saini confirmed that guidelines have been issued to officials to ensure procurement of paddy with moisture content up to 17%.
Every grain will be purchased and strict action will be taken against any official found neglecting their duties, he warned.
Responding to questions on the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) ongoing membership drive, Saini said party president JP Nadda had set a target for each MP to enroll 20,000 members, while MPs had to add 30,000.
Every BJP worker is committed to taking this campaign forward, the chief minister noted.
Commenting on the internal conflicts within the Congress, Saini remarked, “The Congress is grappling with infighting and has failed to nominate a leader of opposition. He criticized the party and the INDIA bloc for spreading false information.
While Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat scheme benefits all citizens without discrimination, the opposition continues to nitpick, Saini said.
The people of the state and the country have rejected the Congress, he concluded, expressing confidence that the BJP's initiatives would ensure continued progress and development in Haryana.
