Jokowi invites Projo to transform into a political party
Solo: The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, released his Pro Jokowi (Projo) volunteers to determine the future political direction. Indeed, Jokowi has currently retired from his position as President of the Republic of Indonesia.
Met during breakfast at Soto Triwindu Solo, Sunday, October 27, 2024, Jokowi handed over the decision to Projo. He released Projo to continue as a volunteer or form a political party. “Yes, it’s up to Projo to decide,” Jokowi said with a smile in Solo, Sunday, October 27, 2024.
Jokowi did not explain much about why he let Projo choose a political direction and immediately left the breakfast venue. Jokowi was seen accompanied by his wife Iriana Jokowi.
It is known that Projo had discussed its intention to later transform into a political party or remain a community organization. This plan was presented before Jokowi resigned from office.
“Projo is registered with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights as a national mass organization, multi-sectoral political organization, to this day it is still like this,” explained Projo General Treasurer Panel Barus.
The panel said that currently Projo is registered as a multi-sectoral political community organization, where the seat of Projo's advisory board is occupied by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo; and the general president is Budi Arie Setiadi.
