PTI's Imran gives 'final call' to protest on November 24 – Pakistan

Speaking to reporters after meeting Imran in Adiala jail on Wednesday, Aleema said the latest call for protest was for everyone, including PTI ticket holders, MPs, workers and party supporters.

Aleema went on to say that Imran made his appeal to four categories of people, farmers, lawyers, civil society and students, who should protest for their rights.

Speaking on the enactment of the 26th Amendment into law, she quoted Imran as saying: All your rights have been taken away; the Supreme Court has been occupied and the current conditions are even worse than previous martial laws.

The call to protest follows a series of demonstrations organized by the PTI across the country throughout October.

During the latest protest in Islamabad on October 4, hundreds of PTI activists, including senior leaders, gathered at several locations in the capital after defying police blockades and road closures.

Authorities had dug trenches and installed iron nails on a stretch of the Islamabad-Peshawar highway to prevent protesters from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from reaching the capital. Despite these obstacles, PTI workers managed to reach D-chowk amid heavy rains.

The PTI had claimed that KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who was part of the protest caravan, was arrested by KP House Rangers before retracting his statement.

After a day-long mysterious disappearance, he resurfaced in Peshawar as he arrived at the KP Assembly in the evening to address lawmakers there.

The PTI canceled its announced protest against D-Chowk for October 15, on the eve of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, after ensuring a medical check-up for Imran.

On November 8, 14 people, including eight police officers, were injured during clashes between police and PTI supporters in Quetta.

The clashes took place after the administration canceled permission for the party to hold a rally at the Railway Hockey Ground to demand Imran's release, citing security threats.
