PM Modi launches projects worth Rs 12,100 cr in Darbhanga, including AIIMS facility
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Union Ministers Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi were also present at the event.
“Earlier, anyone suffering from any illness would visit AIIMS Delhi. However, our government has established new AIIMS hospitals in many parts of the country. Today, there are 24 AIIMS hospitals in the country,” a declared the Prime Minister while addressing the event.
Boosting connectivity: roads and railways
In a significant move to strengthen connectivity in the state, Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several national highway projects worth around Rs 5,070 crore. Among other key projects, he unveiled the four-lane Galgalia-Araria section of NH-327E, which will provide an alternative route from Araria on the East-West Corridor (NH-27) to West Bengal at Galgalia.
Prime Minister Modi also laid the foundation stone for eight major national highway projects, including construction of a two-lane road with paved shoulders from Ramnagar to Rosera and the Bihar-West Bengal border up to the Manihari section of NH-131A. Other key projects include the Hajipur-Bachhwara road via Mahnar and Mohiuddin Nagar, as well as the Sarwan-Chakai stretch. Besides, it will inaugurate Raniganj bypass on NH-327E and Katoria, Lakhpura, Banka and Panjwara bypasses on NH-333A, along with a four-lane link road from NH-82 to NH- 33. has laid the foundation for railway projects worth over Rs 1,740 crore, including the Sonenagar Bypass railway line from Chiralapothu to Bagha Bishunpur, valued at Rs 220 crore.
He inaugurated dedicated projects worth Rs 1,520 crore such as gauge conversion of Jhanjharpur-Laukaha Bazar railway section, Darbhanga bypass railway line to reduce congestion and doubling of railway lines to improve regional connectivity. PM Modi stopped services on the Jhanjharpur-Laukaha Bazar route and introduced MEMU trains on the route. Besides, the Prime Minister inaugurated 18 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras at railway stations, providing affordable medicines to passengers.
