Imran Khan mandates PTI leaders to engage in negotiations: Salman Akram Raja

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) General Secretary Salman Akram Raja on Wednesday said that PTI founder Imran Khan has asked the party leadership to initiate negotiations at all levels to maintain the supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law.

Addressing the media outside the Peshawar High Court (PHC) and later in an interview with Dunya News, Raja stressed that the PTI would continue to fight for the democratic rights of the people and the supremacy of law and constitution in Pakistan.

He asserted that the party would engage in talks on all appropriate platforms, as directed by Imran Khan, to safeguard constitutional integrity and address the country's challenges.

Meanwhile, the PHC granted one-month protective bail to Salman Akram Raja, barring the police from arresting him in the pending cases. A bench comprising Justice Sahibzada Asadullah and Justice Waqar Ahmed heard Raja's plea. During the hearing, Raja explained that although he had been granted bail in eight cases, he was not aware of the status of the other cases against him.

Raja also spoke about the PTI protests in Islamabad last month, particularly the operation by security forces to clear D-Chowk, where party leaders and workers had gathered for Imran's release Khan.
