JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Gibran Rakabuming Raka will attend the 60th anniversary celebration of the Golkar Party tomorrow, Thursday (12/12/2024).
Both would have the possibility of becoming members of the Golkar party after having ceased to be PDI-P executives.
“Yes, you can (become a member) but for members there is a process, there are procedures to become a member. “We will see if there will be this process in the near future,” said General Secretary (Sekjen) of the Golkar Party, Sarmuji, contacted by Kompas.com, Wednesday (11/12/2024).

Despite this, Sarmuji said that communication with Jokowi is currently going smoothly.
He said there were no political obstacles if Jokowi wanted to become a member of the Golkar Party.
“But what is clear is that there are no communication barriers, there are no political obstacles if Pak Jokowi wants to become a member of the Golkar Party,” he said .
Sarmuji pointed out that until this afternoon there was no information that Jokowi would join the Banyan Party.
“Yes, it depends on the judge, but what is clear is that the communication is fluid, there are no problems. “But if you come, until this afternoon, until the H -1 of the anniversary, tomorrow, not yet,” he added.
