Meeting Jokowi solo, Sandiaga praises 'individual party' innovation

PPP politician, Sandiaga Salahuddin Unomet with the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in a private residence in Sumber, Banjarsari, Solo. The closed-door meeting lasted about an hour at Jokowi's home.

Jokowi's Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy admitted that he also discussed economics and politics. In the economic sector, Sandi said there were several challenges, one of which was the trade war.

Sandiaga also responded to Jokowi's statement regarding individual parties after he said he was no longer part of the PDIP. According to Sandiaga, individual parties constitute an innovation.
“It’s an innovation because usually the parties are political, there are individual parties. I had that too mature for Mr. Jokowi, there is a phenomenon in terms of political entrepreneurship that this is a structural change rather than a political one,” Sandiaga said.
According to him, these individual parties must be studied because they constitute something very new. “And maybe this individual policy is worth exploring because I also think it’s something very new,” he said.
When asked if he dared to be hostile to these individual parties, Sandiaga actually wanted to associate himself with individual parties.
“We will now organize the return of the PPP to Senayan and we hope to establish partnerships with individual parties,” he said.
