General Secretary's Comments After Jokowi Didn't Come to Golkar Party Anniversary
Bisnis.comJAKARTA – Former President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), would not have been present at the Golkar party anniversary.
According to Antaranews, Jokowi himself was actually invited to attend the height of the Golkar anniversary celebrations.
However, the Secretary General (Sekjen) of the Golkar Party, Sarmuji, appreciated the absence of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, who was invited to the culmination of the 60th anniversary of the Golkar Party (HUT).
He believes that Joko Widodo will not be present because he has other activities that he cannot leave aside. According to him, everyone has something important and inevitable.
“Maybe he has some very important activities or intentions,” Sarmuji said after attending the 60th anniversary summit of the Golkar Party at the Sentul International Convention Center, Bogor, West Java, as reported by Antaranews.
Apart from that, according to him, the anniversary of the party with the banyan symbol had a surprise because the speech of the General Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, was well received by President Prabowo Subianto.
Previously, the Golkar Party said that it had invited President Prabowo Subianto, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, general chairmen of political parties and other figures, including the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.
The Golkar Party itself has recently been linked to Jokowi. Golkar would welcome Jokowi who wishes to join them.
Golkar Secretary General Sarmuji previously said Jokowi had the right to make his choices freely, including deciding whether to continue his political career in a particular political party.
“Pak Jokowi is an independent and free person, he is free to make choices. “I think Pak Jokowi will definitely take a lot of consideration to join a political party,” he said on Thursday (05/12/2024) at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Central Jakarta.
