PAN opens its doors 1,000 percent to Jokowi and his family
JAKARTA, NusaBali – Secretary General (Sekjen) of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Eko Hendro Purnomo or Eko Patrio said that his party had opened its doors 1,000 percent to the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo ( Jokowi) and his family join his party executives.
“For Pak Jokowi's family, especially Pak Jokowi, we welcome you, 1,000 percent, we provide opportunities and greatly contribute to the progress of the National Mandate Party,” Eko said when meeting on the University of Indonesia campus, Depok, West Java, Thursday. (12/12).
He then said: There is Mas Gibran (Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Gibran Rakabuming Raka) or there is Pak Jokowi, and so on. He said there was nothing wrong with his party providing the blue carpet for Jokowi, whom he considers a statesman with strong leadership abilities. In addition, the Indonesian people's love for Pak Jokowi was very high, 70 to 80 percent at the time, he said.
Regarding this, he said that PAN General Chairman Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) established communication with Jokowi, but his party returned the decision to the former two-term President of the Republic of Indonesia. “So that means that communication is being built, it's just a matter of Pak Jokowi's goal, whether he wants to join the party or not, it's up to him,” he said.
He said his party's communication about being open to Jokowi's membership was implicit through communications between Zulhas and Jokowi. Yes, it's like we were going out with an open heart, we had already understood what we wanted and so on. “So now it depends on Pak Jokowi, whether we are welcome,” he said.
Earlier on Wednesday (4/12), DPP PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto emphasized that the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is no longer part of the party with the bull symbol in white muzzle. Not only Jokowi, he said that Vice President for the period 2024-2029 Gibran Rakabuming Raka and former Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution were also no longer PDIP cadres.
