Former Ukrainian foreign minister calls on UK to lead instead of just following US The Times

Dmytro Kuleba, former Ukrainian foreign minister, said British Prime Minister Starmer had reduced UK support for Ukraine.

Details: Kuleba, who resigned in September, said Labor was “following” the US rather than being bold in its support for kyiv.

“The conservatives were coordinating with the Americans, but they weren’t just following the Americans,” he said.
“That's the change that happened with Labor. They took a stand [that] they would follow the Americans,” Kuleba said.
He further noted that former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had “set the bar high” for support.
“Rishi Sunak had no choice but to cross the threshold and push it further. When the Labor government came to power, we received solid assurance that things would continue as they were,” Kuleba stressed .
“That was largely the case, with the exception of the Storm Shadows story,” he explained, adding that London had long refused to allow Ukraine to use missiles supplied by the United Kingdom to strike targets inside Russian territory.
Starmer only allowed Ukraine to use UK-supplied missiles deep into Russian territory after Joe Biden approved the use of US-supplied missiles.
“The only unpleasant conversation I had with British officials a few weeks before my resignation… concerned the delivery of Storm Shadows and authorization to use them against certain targets,” Kuleba said.
“Maybe the reason was that the new government was cautious and did not want to make hasty decisions,” he added.
